Sometimes you're racing along in life doing about 90 and all the sudden something crops up to remind you of the things you stick in the back of your mind. Kind of like accidentally shifting into reverse in the middle of the freeway. Just to remind you of the things you miss so much that you don't think about them. So I think I'm going on sabatical while I get back in gear... not just one of those things where I forget to update for long periods. This time I'm doing it on purpose.

Lets see; interesting things going on, Steves coming back, my truck broke, and I need a job; I think that just about summs it up. Wow there was a lot wrong with this page since I moved back to the tri-cities. Hopefully I'll have my ftp set up agian soon but for the time being I just don't have the free time to construct a tunnel for it through my router. Time to go do some maitenence on the rest of the site. |

I just got back from seeing Hero, and since I'm in Pullman I have no clue what the other members of the BYJ thought of it (they'll be back from it in a couple minutes) but here are my all important…hehehe…thoughts. I went to this movie expecting to be wowed by the awesome choreography and fighting skills of Jet Li. But what do I get? More of this Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon nonsense. Now I don't have anything against different movie making methods, but just because you've got a sword doesn't mean that you can:
a) Use Leaves as a viable weapon
b) Control the weather
c) Block barrages of arrows with your sleeve
d) Move extremely fast
e) Walk on water
and last but definitely not least:
FLY.
I could hold my swords out in front of me until my arms fell off and I still wouldn't start soaring through treetops. So I'm disappointed, and possibly quite upset. I know that this is getting good ratings throughout the net, but I'm guessing that that is just because its "historically accurate" (they speak Chinese). So there it is, I'm not impressed but then again I'm a really harsh critic.On another note, Bryan and Josh got something done even though I had to shout at them to do it. So yeah!...good job guys, I know that Bryan has a bunch of half finished footage on his computer so I'm hoping to convince him to make a short film of some bloopers and cool moves stuck together. Add to that the imminent release of the Bokken trailer and things are going remarkably well. Now if Wayne would just get me the updates he promised... |
